The Code on Social Security, 2019 was introduced in Lok Sabha by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. Santosh Kumar Gangwar, on December 11, 2019. It replaces nine laws related to social security, including the Employees’ Provident Fund Act, 1952, the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 and the Unorganised Workers’ Social Security Act, 2008. Social security refers to measures to ensure access to health care and provision of income security to workers. The 9 different legislation's presently governing the social security benefits are subsumed into one single code, viz., Code on Social Security. These social security benefits are administered by various bodies. Besides the provisions, the webinar aims to discuss the merits and demerits of the code.
Our Compliance expert Mr K Varadan aims to discuss a topic that is extremely important and relevant in the current volatile scenario, hence Aparajitha hopes to bring knowledge enhancement to your organisations as the co-existence of Labour and Capital is of paramount importance at all times.
