FUEL POLICY QUERY

If a Company grants employees fuel cards, what would be a fair policy to implement in order to curb abuse? Should it limit the amount of litres of fuel per month, limit kilometre travel or implement a monetary limit for fuel expenditure? Any effective fuel policies in place that can be shared, would be greatly appreciated.

What is the purpose of Fuel Card? Is it given to employees to get fuel for to and fro home to office or for client meeting?

It is given for employees to visit the various business units and also to go see clients. Some get company cars and a fuel card and others a travel allowance and fuel card. Obviously there is also private travel and this is where the abuse occurs.

What is Flexi salary structure? How is it beneficial for individual employees? are these valid?

Hi Emilia,

Here are some of the points which should be kept in mind:

1. Fuel Card/ Limit should be as per Band and Profile. Eg, A sales person should be treated while framing eligibility.
2. If some one is using private car for company purpose then the person should submit car RC (which should be in his name) to you.
3. I am sure, policy is taking care of approval process before any team member goes for a business unit visit.
